This crabapple features beautiful rose-red buds that open into showy, long-lasting pale pink to deeper rose-pink flowers in spring, attracting pollinators with their vibrant display before the dark reddish-green leaves fully emerge. Litter is not a problem with this crab, as the small, bright red fruit never falls. The fruit makes excellent food for wildlife. The foliage is glossy reddish-green, turning reddish-purple in fall.
