Cleome, or spider flower, features delicate, spidery blooms with long stamens, often giving the appearance of an exotic, airy flower. The small flowers are clustered in globe-shaped heads atop tall stalks. Its distinctive, slightly sticky leaves and stems have an aromatic odor that deters deer and rabbits.
The plant has an erect, bushy form, growing to 2-5 feet tall, with some varieties reaching up to 4 feet.
