Mulching your flower and vegetable beds will drastically reduce the amount of time you spend weeding, watering and fighting pests. Mulch conserves moisture, reduces weed growth, moderates soil temperature, reduces slope erosion and improves the appearance of your garden, giving it a consistent and finished look.
Please understand that these are natural materials and the actual product you receive may vary slightly in appearance from the photos. If you are concerned, we encourage you to stop by the garden center to see the product firsthand, and keep in mind that what we receive from our vendors can vary from load to load.
We recommend a 2-3” depth of mulch for best results. Use our Materials Calculator to determine the amount of mulch you’ll need for your project. Dyed mulches often need to be refreshed after 2-3 years for best color. Natural mulches will also fade somewhat, and often last 4-5 years or more without needing replacement, as long as the original depth was adequate.
