Garden Center Retail Assistant Manager

Full Time Position

Are you a horticultural enthusiast with proven leadership skills? A+ Garden Center is seeking a passionate and experienced Assistant Manager to oversee the growth and success of our garden center.

Responsibilities:

Team Leadership:

• Assist in training and managing a team of garden center staff.
• Provide guidance and support to team members, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
• Help in coordinating staff duties to ensure efficient operations.

Customer Service:

• Deliver and maintain exceptional customer service.
• Resolve customer inquiries and concerns promptly and professionally.
• Assist in creating a warm, welcoming atmosphere that encourages our guests to return.

Merchandising and Inventory Management:

• Collaborate with Garden Center Management in the planning and execution of effective merchandising strategies.
• Monitor inventory levels, assist in placing orders, and ensure the availability of a diverse range of quality plants and products.
• Contribute to seasonal displays and promotions to enhance the visual appeal of the garden center.

Operational Support:

• Assist in overseeing day-to-day operations, ensuring a clean, organized, and aesthetically pleasing garden center.
• Conduct regular inventory counts and implement procedures to minimize losses.
• Collaborate with the Garden Center Manager on implementing operational policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in a garden center or related retail environment.
• Proven leadership, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
• Knowledge of plants, gardening, and landscaping a major plus
• Basic computer skills (Point of Sale, Gmail, Microsoft word/excel).
• Ability to work outside in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs regularly
