A+ Garden Center seeks a social media–savvy team member who will help us connect with users on Facebook, Instagram and our email list. If you are passionate about plants and like to have fun with social media, we invite you to apply to join our team!

This is a hybrid position, with time split between Social Media tasks and our Garden Center (cashier, plant care, customer service).

Job responsibilities include:

Social Media

• Create posts on Facebook and Instagram: 
  • Collaborate with our management team and use our posting history for planning
  • Write engaging, clear, error-free copy in our brand voice
  • Photograph and take videos of our plants and products
  • Create supplemental graphics using Canva
• Monitor social channels, answer questions and interact with our followers promptly
• Have clear and quick communication with management regarding time-sensitive posts or issues (last minute sales, hacking situations, etc.)
• Other graphic design as needed

Requirements

At least two years of experience crafting social media posts, including:

• Strong writing skills & attention to detail
• Experience with designing and producing posts for various social platforms, including text, photography and video
• Experience or interest in communications or marketing is strongly preferred
• A capacity to understand the A+ Garden Center brand, voice and culture

Nice to have

• Retail, Customer Service or Garden Center experience
• Enthusiasm for marketing and social media
• Strong interpersonal, communication and problem solving skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively
• Comfort with adapting to a fast-paced environment and evolving responsibilities and tasks

Garden Center Associate

• Operate cash registers and process transactions accurately
• Maintain a neat and organized display of plants and garden products
• Care for plants to ensure their health and appeal
• Provide excellent customer service and address customer inquiries
• Collaborate with the team to ensure the overall cleanliness and attractiveness of the garden center
